Exterior Bar
I built this bar for a friend while when I was living in New Orleans. The house was on pilings so the first floor was open on two sides and the living apace was on the second floor. This space was used for family get togethers and the weekly movie night. Even though it is covered the weather in New Orleans can be very harsh on building materials especially wood. I made sure to raise the bar off the ground to allow water to pass without soaking into the PT lumber and to make for easy cleaning. The counter top was made from an existing fence the I had taken down on the property; I like to reuse materials if they are in good condition. The bar top was long grain glued pine with a couple coats of traditional cherry polystain. Two electrical outlets were also added under the bar top.
Horizontal Privacy Fence w/ Double Gate
This fence replaced an existing gate that spanned the entire width. The gate was sagging and vert difficult to open. The customer liked the horizontal design but also needed to keep a large gate for access. To keep a clean look all the the hardware as mounted on the back side of the fence. The customer did not need to be able to open the gate from the outside. The 5/4 deck boards are a heaver than a normal fence picket so I used bracing along the gate section to prevent sagging or bowing. It also provided a nice spot to work in a bench and some custom stenciled craw fish. In addition to the fence a small portion of the wall was covered using old fence pickets to protect the wiring that was previously covered with fabric.
